Reps Postpone Sex Scandal Meeting With US Ambassador

House of Representatives

The meeting between the House of Representatives and the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, James Entwistle, over the allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against three members of the House has been postponed.

Entwistle was to provide the video evidence of  the sexual misconduct against three  lawmakers.

He was supposed to appear alongside the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.

Both the minister and the ambassador were not present at the session, hence the postponement.

At the commencement of the session, the Chairman of the Committee on Ethics and Privileges, Ossai Nicholas Ossai read a letter from Onyeama.

He said the minister was currently attending an African Union Summit in Kigali, Rwanda and that he would not be back until July 19.

The minister said in the letter that he would be available any date thereafter.

Ossai expressed optimism that Onyeama and Entwistle would show up on July 20, the new date of the hearing, to give their own accounts regarding the sexual misconduct allegation levelled against the lawmakers.
